The Book of Mormon

Great Spirit and participation.
Question:
Why is it so difficult for some of us to believe God does great things for us, when it is all around us?
Could it be pride that says, "I know He can do that, but in MY case...."

  1. I think it's like the lottery. Big, huge and amazing things happen to some people individually, but not to all people individually. And we don't think it will be us.

In fact, we are told that we have to do all we can do, but it's still up to the Lord. There are no guarantees that the miracles we want for ourselves, are actually going to happen for us.

    Is that pride?

  2. You are right when we say, by grace we are saved after all we can do.
But, we need to see clearly that, after all we can do, we really haven't done anything at all to off set what He's done for us. We don't 'owe' him anything. We are not in debt to Him. He requires our heart and love so that He can bless us more fully.
